Gi Morton

Gi was introduced to yoga while reading The Bhagavad Gita. She found herself intrigued and inspired by the beautiful poem, specifically the passage which states “Yoga is the journey of the Self, through the Self, to the self.” In time, she discovered a pathway to freedom by quieting the mind, connecting with her inner guide, and approaching life with mindfulness and appreciation. After 15 years of study and practice, she felt compelled to lead others on their own personal journey of awakening and transformation. With the support of and connection to the Toledo Yoga community, she was ready to powerfully step into teaching. Gi completed the 200-Hour Teacher Training program with Toledo Yoga, and is registered with The Yoga Alliance. She has also completed advanced training in Yin Yoga. Gi’s mission is to strategically and compassionately create a diverse yoga culture in Toledo by supporting practices that are accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to all. With each class, Gi strives to create an environment nurturing playfulness, acceptance, and empowerment. She offers a balance of physicality, mindfulness, and space for exploration. Gi believes, as B.K.S. Iyengar wrote, “Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees”
