Laurie had been teaching various types of group fitness classes since she was 16 years old. She first attended a yoga class at the suggestion of a very special and unique teacher in 1998. It was the first time in a group exercise setting that Laurie was not watching the clock and was completely in the present moment! She was hooked. Laurie received her 200-RYT through the Yoga Alliance in 2009, another 200-RYT through the YogaLoft in 2016, and has studied and practiced under accomplished yogis David Swenson, Doug Keller, John Friend, and Doug Swenson.
Laurie works to “bridge the gap” from the gym mat to the yoga mat for her loyal group of fitness followers…..and some sedentary friends! Her favorite quote is by the late Maya Angelou. “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Hence, if you attend Laurie’s class, you will “feel” something. And come back to “feel” it again. She has heard the remarkable and rewarding statement “this has changed my life” several times, validating how significant her yoga teachings are for her students and trainees.
